Challenge Of Graduate Unemployment Will Soon Be Over - President Akufo-Addo 

President Akufo-Addo says the challenge of graduate unemployment will soon be over, following the full take off of government's initiatives such as the One Village One Dam, One District One factory, the various development authorities and the Zongo initiatives. 

Speaking at the 2018 May Day parade at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, President Akufo-Addo said though the private sector remains the catalyst to address unemployment, government will not leave the burden on the private sector but will strengthen young entrepreneurs financially to position them to engage others. 

He added that the current financial indicators such as the decrease in inflation and bank rates put the country in a better position to create more jobs.

President Akufo-Addo also spoke on some recruitment expected to take place this year.

On the brouhaha associated with the ECG concession, President Akufo-Addo allayed the fears of Ghanaians especially workers of the company saying that the deal is in the best interest of Ghana.

On pensions, the President announced a ten member committee to be headed by the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo, to within six months come out with a Charter on Pension with the Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda in focus.

President Akufo-Addo said these when he delivered his May Day speech in Kumasi, the venue for the national celebration. This year's celebration is on the theme: ‘Sustaining Development Goals and Decent Work: The Role of Social Partners”. 

Awards were presented to workers who have distinguished themselves in their field of work.
