Gov't, Health Ministry to support Neo-natal Intensive Care Units in various hospitals

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, has given the assurance that his Ministry will collaborate with the Presidency and the Ministry of Finance, to find the financial resources needed to eliminate the chronic lack of incubators and other vital equipment in Neo-natal Intensive Care Units of the various hospitals.

According to him, prevailing conditions are unacceptable, and a failure on the part of the country's healthcare planning.

Mr. Agyeman Manu was speaking to GBC's Radio Ghana, after a visit to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital, where he was informed that pre-term babies delivered are made to share incubators and radiant warmers because they are few.
