The Daily Graphic says it is time to make District Assemblies financially self-reliant. To do this, much must be done to curb misappropriation, mismanagement, and embezzlement of funds within some assemblies as reported by the Auditor General over the years. The paper says government must crack the whip on corrupt officers to deter others from engaging in squandering public funds.  It says government must ensure that appointees to the MMDAS have knowledge in financial management to be able to apply funds more reasonably. This will help raise more revenue from within to undertake projects that will benefit the masses.  

The Ghanaian Times says moves for Ghana to reduce its import bill on food products that can be produced locally is intended to encourage Ghanaians to add value to their raw agriculture produce and be self-reliant and competitive. The paper expresses the need to address the challenges with the country's irrigation system to complement its unreliable rain-fed agriculture production system. The paper notes that, the Poultry Value Chain fair to be held in Sunyani would help address challenges facing poultry farmers. 

The Daily Heritage calls for an end to occultism in schools. The paper agrees that Ghana is a secular state and nobody can be forced to profess Christianity, Islamic or other faiths, but occultism in schools should not be allowed to thrive because it is against Ghana Education Service regulations and an exploitation of students. It says anybody who wants to engage in occultism should do that out of school as it is a matter of faith.
