Ban on small scale mining must be extended- Ken Ashigbe

The President of the Media Coalition against Galamsey, Ken Ashigbe, says the ban on small scale mining must have been extended because the objectives and vision for which it was imposed have not been met or achieved.

Speaking to GBC's Radio Ghana on threats by those involved in illegal mining after the extension, Mr. Ashigbe said the taskforce and the Media Coalition are ready to face them in court.

Mr. Ashigbe called for the outdooring and implementation of the Multi-Sectoral Mining Integrated Project to ensure that the sector is regularised.
