TGLEU demands 50 percent reduction in utility tariffs

The Textiles, Garments and Leather Employees Union (TGELU), is demanding fifty percent reduction in utility tariffs across board.

They also want a reduction in VAT and Levies imposed on players in the textiles industry.

Speaking on our News and Current Affairs Programme, 'Behind the News', the General Secretary of TEGLU, Abraham Koomson, said such levies and tariffs are collapsing the industry due to the high cost of production. 

He said if government fails to do so, then its flagship policies like the one district one factory programme will be ineffective.
