President leaves for governance conference in Nigeria President Akufo-Addo, has left the country for Nigeria, to attend a two-day International Conference on Transformative Governance in Africa. The visit is at the invitation of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah. President Akufo-Addo will deliver the keynote address at the Conference, on the theme, “How to make Democracy work for Africa.” A statement signed by the Director of Communication at the Office of the President said the President will return home Thursday and in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,will act in his stead.
