MC Dan donates to save a month old baby in Tamale

The enskined  Gugba Naa of Tamale, Dr. Daniel Mckorley, has responded to a call by the chief of Tamale, Dapkema Naa Alhassan Dawuni about a month old baby’s health condition as the baby's spinal cord fails to develop properly and had about two weeks to live according to doctors at the Tamale teaching hospital last wednesday.

Dr. Daniel Mckorley who is the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of Mc Dan group, upon hearing the sad story of the baby, quickly called on his humanitarian foundation led by his wife Mrs. Abigail Mckorley to rescue the dying baby by paying for the total amount of the surgery at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The parents and family of the baby, Salifu Faiziatu had to raise an amount of seven thousand Ghana cedis (7,000 cedis) surgery as they were told by the doctors at the hospital that surgery was the only means and the grace of God for the child to survive.

According to medical reports Causes of spinal bifida are different in nature - ranging from genetic, nutritional, and environmental factors as well as insufficient intake of folic acid—a common B vitamin—in mothers' diet.
 
The McDan Foundation an extension of the Mc Dan group for altruistic job was led by Mrs. Abigail Mckorley, wife of the McDan Group chairman to pay an amount 7,000 cedis for the child's surgery and also gave an additional 3,000 cedis for the child’s upkeep after the surgery bringing the total amount of money to Ten thousand Ghana cedis.

The family and parents of the baby Salifu Faiziatu and the medical staff of the Tamale teaching hospital were exceedingly happy for the helping hand of the McDan Foundation.

Mrs. Abigail Mckorley expressed joy and promised to do more for God and country she also urged other corporate corporate entities and businesses to focus more on giving back to society for human development.

The surgery of the child is expected to take place at the Tamale Teaching hospital.

The Ghana Broadcasting corporation s regional stations Radio savanna and Gtv were there for presentation in Tamale.
