U.S warns against growing influence of China and Russia in Latin America

The US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson says the increasing Chinese and Russian presence in Latin America possess serious risk for the region.

Speaking in Texas before embarking on his first tour of Latin America, Mr Tillerson said Beijin's model of investment drains resources from countries and only benefited the chinese people. 

He said Latin America does not need new imperial powers who seek only to benefit their people, and accused Russia of selling weapons to authoritarian regimes.
