GJA President-Elect and Incoming Vice President Commiserate with KEN CITY Media

Re-elected President of the Ghana Journalist Association, Roland Affail Monney and the incoming GJA Vice President, Linda Asante, have paid a  to KEN CITY MEDIA, owners of NET 2 TV and OMAN FM.

The visit by GJA delegation was to mourn with management and staff of Ken City Media over the tragic death of MOHAMMED ASHILEY, the NET 2 cameraman who met his untimely death last Saturday.

Mohammed Ashiley Yakubu, 37 a cameraman from an Accra based private TV station, NET2 TV, was attached to the presidency.

He fell from the overpass to the ground whilst, filming the explosion from the overpass with a miniature camera but the second explosion caused him to fall from the top to the ground and died on the spot.

Reports say the second explosion jolted him from his perch atop the overpass, sending him crashing onto the road beneath.

His body was conveyed to the Police Hospital morgue, unknown to his employers, the Kencity Media.

However, after calls to his phone went unanswered, the management of the company went searching for him, only to discover his dead body on Sunday in a morgue.

Mr. Mohammed Ashiley Yakubu, who was a Muslim, will be buried tomorrow, October 10, 2017, according to Islamic rites.
