Justice Sophia Akuffo calls for education on international criminal justice 

Supreme Court Judge, Justice Sophia Akuffo, has called for the creation of local constituencies within countries to advocate and educate people on international criminal justice and the work of the International Criminal Court (ICC). 

She said the ICC continues to be struck by varying challenges to its jurisdiction, legitimacy and effectiveness. 

Speaking at the launch of the African Centre for International Criminal Justice at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration GIMPA, Justice Akuffo said both signatory and non-signatory nations, organisations and individuals have persistently probed the motive behind the establishment of the ICC and decried its objectives while others have cynically rebuked the membership dynamics of the Rome Statute.
