W/R: Fisherfolks accuse government of failure to address challenges Inshore fishermen in Sekondi in the Western Region (W/R) have resorted to using dynamite to fish in order to make up for their loss due to illegal fishing practices by big trawling vessels, mostly owned by Chinese nationals. The Chairman of Ghana Inshore Fishermen Association Sekondi, Francis Eshun, who acknowledged that their practice is illegal and harmful to human health said they will stop when other illegal practices such as the use of mesh nets and light fishing are stopped. Mr. Eshun who spoke to journalists said they have resorted to this method due to failure by governments to address issues in the fisheries sector. GBC
