Ghana loses over 8 billion cedis annually on illegal migrants

Statistics have shown that Ghana loses more than eight billion Ghana Cedis annually on illegal migrants, some of whom enter the country with all kinds of diseases. 

This, according to government burdens the country's already over stretched health facilities, aside costing the nation huge sums of money. 

Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid who made this known at the launch of the ECOWAS Free Movement and Migration Project in Accra, said though Ghana does not discriminate, irregular movements across the borders that threaten the safety of the country will not be accepted.
