The Gambian ex-President Yahya Jammeh 'stole $50m' from state The immediate past President of The Gambia, Yahya Jammeh is said to have stolen at least 50 million dollars from the state before leaving the country in January. The Justice Minister, Abubacarr Tambadou, who revealed this, accused Mr. Jammeh of withdrawing the money through a state telecoms company. A court has ordered all his remaining assets in The Gambia to be frozen. Mr. Jammeh flew into Equatorial Guinea after 22 years in power.
