Kaiser Flats in Tema to be demolished

The Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea has reiterated government's commitment to partner local contractors in the provision of affordable housing for the people. 

He said inasmuch as government wants to engage local contractors, it will not compromise quality. 

The Minister said the delivery of some of the local contractors engaged so far leaves much to be desired and so they must improve. 

Mr Akyea said this when he toured some of the affordable housing sites under the Tema Development Corporation catchment area and the Ningo-Prampram District in the Greater Accra Region. 

Meanwhile, Mr Akyea has given the go ahead for the Tema Development Company to demolish Kaiser Flats at Community four.

He said the TDC should come up with a road map on how to evict squatters there before pulling down the flats for redevelopment.
