Gov’t tasked to handle controversy surrounding MMDCEs appointment The Regent of Tolon, Major Sulemana Abubakar, has warned against using police and military force to impose Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) on the people. He said, if the New Patriotic Party (NPP), attempts using such force, it will create a security challenge for the nation. In an interview with our Regional Correspondent, Murtala Issah, Major Abubakar expressed displeasure at the way party executives handled the rejection of some presidential nominees for the position of MMDCEs. He rejected the President's nominee for the Tolon District saying the people cannot work with her. Meanwhile the people of Savelugu continued with their demonstration today to reject the President's nominee for the area. They marched through the principal streets of Savelugu amidst Police control.
