Expedite process of approving Chief Executives - Dr Osae

A Governance Expert, Dr Eric Oduro Osae, has advised Municipal, Metropolitan and District Assemblies, (MMDAs) to expedite the process of approving their Chief Executives. 

To Dr Oduro Osae, delays in approving Chief Executives negatively affect revenue generation and other operations of the Assembly. 

Dr Oduro Osae was speaking on GBC’s ‘Uniiq Breakfast Drive’.

Dr Oduro Osae also cautioned the youth to refrain from kicking against the appointment of Chief Executives who do not hail from their communities. 

He says such a posture is illegal and retards development of the Assemblies.

Dr Oduro Osae acknowledged the need for consultations to be done with the people in making appointments to the MMDAs. 

He pointed out that there are gaps in the Local Governance Act, and called for a legislative instrument to make the process more engaging.
