Abolish galamsey and vigilante groups - Catholic Bishop 

The Catholic Bishop of Yendi, Vincent Sowah Boi Nai, has called on government to abolish all forms of galamsey  and disband all vigilante groups.  

In a statement by the Municipal Information Officer of the Church, the Bishop noted that some people do not care about the environment.  

He re-echoed the effects of illegal mining on water bodies and the destruction of farm lands.  

The statement notes that, Ghana is faced with waste management challenges such as open defecation and  indiscriminate dumping of refuse, which need to be addressed by all.
