Police Outlines Security Plans For Agbogbloshie Following Bloody Clashes

The police has outlined security plans for ensuring peace at the Agbogbloshie yam market in Accra. 

This follows bloody clashes yesterday (April 11)  afternoon in parts of the market.

The Accra Regional Operations Commander, Chief Supt. Kwesi Ofori, says dialogue between the two feuding factions is critical and will be top on their agenda.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission on Small Arms, Jones Afle, says the Agbogbloshie disturbances can be linked to political and economic factors. 

Mr Afle urged the security apparatus to consider declaring Agbogbloshie a security zone as advocated by the MP for the area.
