Explosion at galamsey site kills Seven illegal miners in Talensi

The death toll in an explosion of a metal box containing cyanide at a galamsey mining site at Gbane, a community in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region has risen to seven. 

The explosion also left several others injured. 

The miners were undertaking operations in a pit last Thursday when the explosion occurred, resulting in the caving in of parts of the pits.

The Police are said to have started investigations into the blast.
