Western Region: Illegal small scale miners express readiness to partner government

Illegal small scale miners from Wassa Akropong, Huni Valley and Amenfi East all in the Western Region have expressed their readiness to partner government to address the galamsey menace.
 
They acknowledged government's concern and public outcry about their activities and made suggestions as to how to control the situation.

The miners expressed concern about the acquisition of mining licenses, saying it is a major worry. 

This was the outcome of a meeting with the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng.
