The Ghanaian Times says the establishment of the Zongo Development Fund has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that the government is truly committed to the development of these communities. According to the paper, it is important for every part of the country to be given a fair share of the national cake as far as planning and development is concerned. It is for this reason that efforts should be made to ensure that the development fund is made sustainable at all times irrespective of the government in power. The Today says the rising spate of carnage on our roads as lamented by the President is unfortunate and unacceptable. According to the paper, it is in the light of the above that it is calling on stakeholders including the NRSC and the DVLA and also the MTTD to play their parts when the project kicks-off.

The Daily Heritage says since the defeat of the National Democratic Congress in the December 2016 election, the centre appears not to be holding in the party. According to the paper, not long ago, some angry foot-soldiers of the party disturbed the public peace by engaging in a fight in the Lower Manya Krobo constituency in the Eastern Region. The Heritage is of the view that a strong opposition party is needed to scrutinize government policies to enhance the nation's democracy and not a party that is scrappy.
