V/R: Planting for Food and Jobs' technical committee launched The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa has inaugurated the regional technical committee for the implementation of the planting for Food and Jobs Project. Speaking on’ Behind the News’, Dr. Letsa said the committee, is mandated to oversee the successful implementation of the project. Adding that, members will also see to the training of extension officers within the region. The programmes manager of the Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana, Charles Nyaaba said the planting for food and Jobs Project has come to supplement activities in the agricultural sector. He said farmers are ever ready to farm. For his part, the acting Executive Director of Savannah Ecological Development, SED, think tank Abu Kasambata, urged government to pay attention to farmers in the Northern part of the country in its planting for Food and jobs projects. He noted that the Northern belt has most of the outgrowers and needs to be fully supported to improve agriculture in the country. Mr. Kasambata said publicity on the project in most farming communities in the North is low. GBC
