Infamous Lavender Hill Closed Down As President Mahama Inaugurates $80M Waste Treatment Plant Residents of Jamestown and surrounding areas say the best gift government has given them is to shut down the infamous lavender hill. This comes as President John Mahama, inaugurates an eighty million dollar waste treatment plant at Korle-Gonno. The project puts a stop to the discharge of raw faecal matter into the sea. The project was undertaken by the government in partnership with sewage Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Zoomlion, Ghana. The waste plant is the first of its kind in the sub-region. GBC
