Data Companies And Individuals Asked To Register With The Data Protection Commission or face prosecution Companies and individuals who handle personal data and information but failed to register with the Data Protection Commission have been given a final ultimatum of the first of next month to do so or face prosecution. The ultimatum was given by the Director of Cyber Crime Unit of the Police Criminal Investigations Department, Chief Superintendent, Dr. Herbert Yankson. He expressed disappointment at the failure of companies to comply with the Data Protection Act 2012, Act 843. Dr. Yankson was speaking to Journalists at the CID Headquarters in Accra, after a closed door meeting with officials of the companies expected to register with the Data Protection Commission. GBC
