The Daily Graphic is calling on the world to accept the reality of Republican Donald Trump's victory in the US elections and brace themselves for every outcome of the next four years. The paper, however, believes that the election of Trump is not going to have any negative impact on Africa's relationship with America. It says despite Mr Trump's tough talks about tackling illegal immigration especially, from the Mexican and Islamic perspectives, US foreign policy has always favoured Africa and it is expected to remain the same. The paper urges all Americans to stay united as they move ahead with a new administration.   

The Ghanaian Times says elections are part of the democratic process, and offer the citizenry the opportunity to exercise their rights to determine who should lead them. According to the Times, in doing this however, it is necessary for political parties to conduct their campaigns with decency, being cognisant of the fact that the eventual winner would be the leader of the entire nation and must embrace all. 

The Daily Heritage says reckless comments by politicians could plunge nations into chaos and create avoidable war. It says the Rwandan genocide, which was caused by thoughtless ethnocentric comments, led to a large scale of ethnic cleansing and massacre of millions. This, should therefore, serve as lesson enough for us all. The paper condemns unsavoury comments made by politicians as the nation gears up for the upcoming elections. It urges political leaders to watch their utterances, adding that the strive for peace is a collective responsibility and that intemperate language should not be countenanced before, during and after the polls.
