Lifeline For Disqualified Presidential Candidates To Correct Mistakes On Nomination Forms End

Not all the twelve disqualified presidential candidates were able to meet the Supreme Court's deadline for correction today. 

As at 5 pm, Radio Ghana's check indicated that only six out of the twelve submitted corrected version of their forms to the Electoral Commission (EC). 

They are the Progressive People's Party (PPP), People's National Convention (PNC), United Front Party (UPF), Democratic People’s Party (DPP), National Democratic Party (NDP) and Kwame Aseidu Walker, an independent candidate. 

Officials of the EC declined to give details of the procedure. 

However, the flagbearer of the PNC, Dr. Edward Mahama who spoke to the media after submitting his forms said the EC has assured the party of its decision as soon as the corrections on the forms are verified.

Meanwhile, the EC however confirmed on GBC’s ‘Behind The News’, the number of presidential candidates who re-submitted their form. 

Deputy Communication's Director of the Commission Yusif Ayuba said the Commission will look into the forms and inform the candidates of the Commission's decision, adding that the ballot for the presidential candidates will be held November 10 as directed by the Supreme Court.
