Elections 2016: Ahanta west to benefit from rubber factor- Akufo-Addo The people of Ahanta West in the western region are to benefit from Rubber factory as part of NPP’s one district one policy. They will also benefits from out growers scheme to support rubber plantation. The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo said this on his second day of his central regional tour. He rallied support from the people to reclaim the seat that the party loss to the NDC IN 2012 The second day of the campaign tour took Nana Addo and his entourage to Dixcove, Ahanta, Kwesimintsim, Komkompe and other adjourning communities. Massive crowd poured to welcome the NPP presidential candidate. At some point where he is not billed to speak the residents block the road to stop the convoy for Nana Addo to address them. At Dixcove one of the main problem in the town is sea erosion. The chiefs and people asked for a sea defence wall to protect their land. They also appealed for a nursing training college. Nana Addo said the sea defence project started under former president kufuor but was aborted by the NDC. He said his government will begin the project. He then moved to Ahanta where the majority of the people are farmers. He said as part of his one district one factory policy, the people will benefit from a rubber factory. He said his promise to create jobs are not mere rhetoric but a firm commitment to the people of Ghana The western region is known for his galamsey exploits. Nana Addo denied allegations from the NDC that he will collapse the galamsey operation. He said he will rather regulate its operation. Members of the campaign trail are, Alan Kojo Kyeremanten , Paapa Owusu Ankomah, Kwamena Bartels, and other former Ministers in the Kufuor regime. GBC
