Parliament okays $24.5M for sugar cane and irrigation project

Parliament has okayed a 24.5 million dollar facility for a sugar cane and irrigation project to feed the Komenda Sugar Factory. 

The loan agreement is between government and the EXIM Bank of India. 

Management of the revamped Komenda Sugar Factory have had challenges getting enough raw materials to feed the factory. 

The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu, says government's dream is to set up a sugar estate.
