Akpini traditional chiefs sign peace treaty

Two senior divisional chiefs of the Akpini traditional area have ended their over three decade’s rivalry by publicly declaring their committment to reconcile by signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. 

The two chiefs, Togbe Afendza who is the Dufia of Kpando Fesi and in charge of the Anyigbe division and Togbe Adza Lokko, Dufia of Kpando Dzogbesianti who is also in-charge of the Gbordome division pledged to cooperate and collaborate with each other on all issues that may require their joint efforts for the growth of the Akpini traditional area. 

Radio Ghana’s Correspondent Maclean Nordzi witnessed the peace accord and reports that, the feuding factions of the protracted chieftaincy disputes in Kpando agreed to reconcile and ensure peaceful coexistence among their subjects. 

Togbe Afendza stressed the importance promoting  peace in the Traditional Area and urged their subjects to join them in charting the path of peace and development. 

He was hopeful that the much cherished Danyigbakaka festival will be reintroduced next year.
