Psychiatric nurses threaten to withdraw services The Psychiatric Nurses Group has threatened to embark on total strike if authorities do not ensure that the facility is provided with the needed medication and other supplies. Spokesperson for the Group, Philip Frimpong Okyere, said the Group hopes to get favourable response from the authorities on their demands before the Friday ultimatum. He said the present condition at the Psychiatric hospital does not augur well for mental health care. Director of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Dr Pinaman Appau, said people's understanding of the issues involved will help them appreciate the demands of the Mental Health workers. She said safety can in no way be compromised with mental health care. Dr Appau called for urgent solution to the problems confronting Mental Health Care. GBC
