Election Disputes Ahead Of 2016 Polls

The run up to the December election has been characterised by one challenge or the other with legal suits following the disqualification of some presidential aspirants. The embattled candidates have sued the Electoral Commission with some individuals also asking the courts to rule on whether or not ballots cast during special voting should be counted immediately after voting. Against this background Supreme Court Judge, Justice Jones Dotse has urged political parties to accept decisions of the court on electoral disputes that may arise from the general election.  In the light of this, Radio Ghana interrogates the legalities of these developments and whether the call by Justice Dotse is appropriate.
