Prez Mahama announces plans to refurbish traditional markets in Accra

President John Mahama has announced plans to refurbish all traditional markets in the Accra Metropolis. He dropped the hint when he interacted with traders at almost all the markets in the Capital. 

Radio Ghana's Pascaline Adadevoh reports that President Mahama, was virtually mobbed by the traders and a roaring crowd. The excitement and cheers were spontaneous.

President Mahama, interacted with traders at the Agbogbloshie Yam market, Makola, Adabraka and Osu. 

With a confident posturing he told them government will embark on a rehabilitation of all traditional markets in the Accra metropolis within the next four years.  

He said just as he promised and has delivered with projects like the Kotokuraba market in Cape Coast, kejetia market in Kumasi, Aboabo in Tamale and the Ho markets, the same will be done with the markets here. 

President Mahama, said the population is increasing hence the urgent need to expand the markets. 

This news ignited waves of excitement from the traders. 

This is probably an indication that the public is taking interest in development projects and policies that directly affect them. 

The campaign trail made a stop  Dansoman specifically the famous exhibition roundabout and then Town Council line. 

The final stop was at Adabraka, in the Klottey Korley constituency.  

Even though it was past 11pm, the People huddled cheering and dancing up and down in excitement awaiting the arrival of President Mahama.

President Mahama introduced the Parliamentary Candidate for that area Dr. Ezanetor Rawlings also known as Osu Lagata to the people.

Interestingly even after the day ended, the people still followed the convoy  till they couldn't cope with the pace any longer.
