UN advocates signing of Peace Accord by Ghana's Presidential candidates for peaceful elections Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General Office for West Africa and the Sahel, Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas has asked the newly constituted National Peace Council to make presidential candidates in this years elections sign a Peace Accord for peaceful elections. According to him, the signing of the Kumasi Declaration by Presidential Candidates in 2012 contributed to the holding of peaceful elections and this must be repeated this year to ensure that all parties and candidates commit to the peace process. Dr Ibn Chambas said this in a congratulatory message to members of the newly constituted National Peace Council chaired by Most Rev Prof Emmanuel Asante, who maintained his position. GBC
