Senegalese President Macky Sall pardons Karim Wade for corruption Senegalese President, Macky Sall, has signed a decree pardoning the former Minister, Karim Wade for corruption charges. Karim Wade, a political rival and son of the former President Abdoulaye Wade was sentenced last year to six years in jail for embezzlement. According to the decree signed earlier this morning, Mr. Wade and two of his co-defendants are free but still have to repay the misappropriated funds. There are reports that Mr Wade has already left Senegal for France or Qatar. BBC
