Akosombo dam in critical situation

The Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, Kirk Koffi says the low level of water in the Akosombo dam is adversely affecting power generation. 

He said VRA is currently running only two turbines out of six. 

Speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana after the media launch of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa [APUA] in Accra, Mr Koffi said with the onset of the rains the Authority expects a rise in the water level to bring VRA to full operational capacity.
