Sea weed causes environmental disaster to Countries in Gulf of Guinea 

Nine West African countries bordering the Gulf of Guinea, including Ghana, are facing another environmental disaster caused by a sea weed known as Sargassum. 

This weed surfaced in 2010 during the exploration of oil and gas by some countries in the sub-region. 

This weed poses a disaster since it keeps increasing and dealing with it has become a challenge by member countries. 

The adviser to the Abidjan Convention of the West Africa Bio diversity and climate change programme, WABEC, Sahr Abraham Grass-Sessey disclosed this to Radio Ghana at the Ocean Day in Accra.
