Government asked not to entrust fishing equipment in care of DCEs The newly elected Chairman of the National Inland Canoe Fisherman Council, Jacob Tetteh has called on government not to entrust fishing equipment meant for the Council in the care of DCEs. He said the situation only leads to politicization of the distribution or sale of such fishing gear. Mr Tetteh said DCEs have no knowledge about fishing and therefore issues concerning the industry must be left to the Council to ensure that the sector is not adversely affected. Mr Tetteh was speaking at the election of new National Executives of the Council in Accra. Mr Tetteh also outlined challenges confronting the Inland fishing sector and how to address them. GBC
