Church leaders express concern about indecent dressing

More church leaders have expressed concerns on the issue of indecent dressing following a directive by the St John the Baptist Catholic Church at Pedu in Cape Coast that banned what it called provocative dressing in the church. 

The lay President of the church, Andrew Kofi Wofesah said being fashionable is a good thing but to abuse it is problematic. 

He said there is the need to educate the youth to dress decently.

The Archbishop of the Cape Coast Arch Diocese, Most Reverend Mathias Nketia said in every situation one has to dress as a Christian.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Ghana Catholic Bishop's Conference, Very Rev. Nicholas Afriyie said education has been going on concerning indecent dressing in his parish and this has made some positive impact on the youth.

A member of the Ghana National Pentecostal Council and Presiding Bishop of Jesus Generation Ministries, Apostle Nyame Bodumah was quick to add that modest dressing is not the only problem but one's attitude towards dressing is also necessary.
