President Mahama sends goodwill message to Black Queens The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has on behalf of his President John Mahama, the Government, the Ministry and the people of Ghana, sent a goodwill message, to the senior national women’s team, the Black Queens. The Black Queens would host Tunisia in the return leg of the African Women’s Championship qualifier, after coming from a goal behind to beat them by 2-1 in the first leg last week. In a press release signed for the Minister by the head of Public Relations, Mr. Otor Plahar, said, President Mahama is aware of the task ahead of the Queens and has therefore urged them to go all out to make Ghana proud. “I know the task ahead of you is daunting, but not insurmountable, the whole country is behind you this moment and would give you the necessary support to enable you win, prepare your minds adequately and renew your spirit of conviction, do not rest on your oars, but work hard to raise the flag of Ghana high, by winning your match to bring respect and glory to this country.” President Mahama, has therefore urged the coach, as well as the technical team and management of the team to ensure the players are well-conditioned and prepared physically, mentally and psychologically ahead of the game. “The whole country is behind you and I call on all Ghanaians to remember you in their prayers, I wish you well and may victory crown your efforts.” The match is slated for the Accra sports stadium on Tuesday, 12 April, 2016.
