Fire Service issues ultimatum to companies in Ghana 

The Ghana National Fire Service has issued warnings and given 24 hour ultimatum to some facility owners to put in place fire safety measures or risk closure and prosecution. 

The warning was given when a team from the Service went on an unannounced visit to assess fire safety preparedness of some facilities in Accra. 

The Greater Accra Regional Fire Officer, ACFO, Ebenezer Simpson who led the team said the exercise is to help curb the recurring fire outbreaks in the country. 

Over the past three months the capital Accra, recorded about 90 fire outbreaks with the latest at Vienna City at Kwame Nkrumah Circle.  

ACFO Simpson said the unannounced visits by the Fire Service  will be replicated in all the regions.
