Kumasi Zongo district police arrests driver for murder

The Zongo District Police in Kumasi have arrested a 28 year old driver, Charles Osei Asamoah, a native of Techimantia in Brong Ahafo for allegedly murdering one Robert Awuah. 

Awuah, 33 and a professional driver died shortly on arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he was alleged to have been assaulted by Asamoah at the Acheamfuo Bus Terminal near Adehyeman Gardens. 

The Zongo District Police Commander, Superintendent Adane Nyamekye who confirmed the story told the media that, Awuah was confronted for failing to take care of a victim he had hit with his car. 

He said when Awuah was in the process of explaining his actions, Asamoah allegedly knocked the deceased on the head who fell and  bled from the nose. 

People at the scene quickly rushed Awuah to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival. 

Asamoah was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police for further investigations.
