The Daily Graphic describes as unfortunate the way opposition MPs in Parliament heckle, boo and virtually bring proceedings to temporary breaks when the President delivers the State of the nation address in the House. It cites former President John Agyekum Kufuor, late President Mills and now President Mahama of suffering the same fate. The paper believes that attitude does not dignify the high office of the land. To the Graphic if the practice is not stopped, Parliament will be establishing a tradition that will throw the respect that should be accorded the high office of President to the wind. 

The Ghanaian Times lauds the National Labour Commission for Organising a Stakeholders dialogue to discuss ways of reducing strikes in the country ahead of this year’s General election. The paper is optimistic the forum will go a long way to calm the nerves on the labour front, so that threats of industrial actions and withdrawal of service would no more be necessary. The Times urges government to settle all allowances and salaries of its workers before the situation of strikes cripple the economy.
