EC Denies Suspending Election Steering Committee The Electoral Commission has denied media reports that it has suspended the eighteen-member National Election Steering Committee. A statement signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs of the EC, Christian Owusu Parry, which described the reports as erroneous, said the Committee remains in place until a contrary decision is made. It says the only decision taken at the emergency meeting was that the EC would meet and discuss the concerns raised and inform IPAC of its decision later. It adds that this should not be misconstrued as a suspension of the Committee. The statement asked the Committee members to stay focused as it takes the necessary steps to address the concerns raised. GBC
