Customs moves to revamp and encourage production and consumption of local products The Commissioner of Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, John Vianney Kuudamnur has explained that taxes on imported goods are not intended to cripple the businesses of importers. The move is rather to revamp and encourage production and consumption of local products and services. Mr Kuudamnur said the rate of importation is worrying especially when the very same products are manufactured locally. Mr Kuudamnur said this when members of the Ghana branch of the ECOWAS Community Development Programme’s media network called on him in Accra. GBC
