Kintampo Accident: Metro Mass Transit ‘overloaded’ bus Preliminary information from the Police suggests that the Metro Mass Bus which was involved in the accident on the Kintampo-Tamale Highway was overloaded. According to the Police, the actual number of passengers supposed to be on the bus was 63, however the number of people involved in the accident is running into 80. The Brong Ahafo Regional Police PRO, ASP Christopher Tawiah told GBC’s Radio Ghana it has also emerged that the driver of the Metro Mass bus was overtaking a tanker in a curve and that caused the accident. Meanwhile, the District Information Officer for Kintampo South, Leonard Kanwe has described yesterday's (February 17) accident as the worst ever to hit the municipality. Mr. Kanwe complained about over speeding and reckless driving on that stretch of the Highway. Mr. Kanwe spoke on the role of District Information Officers in educating drivers and the public on the dangers of over speeding. GBC
