Court adjourns Afoko's suit against NPP to March 24 The Human Rights Court in Accra has adjourned to March 24, 2016, hearing of the suit filed by the suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP), Paul Afoko against the party and its acting Chairman Freddie Blay. Mr. Afoko has sued the defendants over his suspension from the party and is praying the court to declare the action as illegal. The court ordered lawyers for the plaintiff and the defendants to file their witness statements before the next adjourned date. The presiding judge, Justice Anthony Yeboah also ordered a full trial of two out of the five issues brought before the court. These two are those challenging the legitimacy of some two members of the Disciplinary Committee which took the decision to suspend Mr. Afoko. According to Mr. Afoko, the two are not legitimate members of the committee. The other three issues will however be determined by legal arguments in court. GBC
