Upper West NDC inaugurates three working committees

The Upper West Regional Youth Wing of the NDC has inaugurated three working committees at Wa. 

They are the Planning and Advisory, Social Media and Research as well as Operations. 

Radio Ghana’s correspondent in Upper West region Sualah Abdul-Wahab says the inauguration of the committees’ forms part of measures that are being taken to ensure seventy-nine percent of votes for President John Dramani Mahama in this year’s presidential elections in the region. 

The composition of the committees’ membership include past and present regional youth executives, TEIN Coordinators and some key activists of the party. 

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony the Majority Leader Alban Bagbin urged the members to educate the populace on the specific development projects that have taken place in the region in particular and the nation as a whole since President Mahama assumed power.  

Mr. Bagbin said the biggest challenge confronting NDC is not the NPP but the skepticism on the part of members of the NDC. 

He said the members of the committees have the duty to address the skepticism by explaining to people the achievements of NDC under the leadership of President John Mahama. 

He said the party has more than enough to talk about in terms of development in the region. 

Mr. Bagbin said the achievement of president Mahama could be equated to that of President Kwame Nkrumah if he is given another four years to rule. 

The National Youth Organizer of the party Sidii Abukari Musah who swore the members into office said Upper West region has the capacity to garner more than seventy-nine percent of total votes for President Mahama. 

He assured them that logistics will be made available to the committees for effective execution of their mandate. He called on the members of the committees to put the interest of the party first in the conduct of their duties. 

The Regional Youth Organizer of the party Nicodemous Dery said the youth of the party demonstrated in the last general elections that they are ready to work for the progress of the party. 

Mr. Dery gave the assurance that the members will work hard to retain all the eleven parliamentary seats of the region. 

Other personalities who addressed the gathering were a Presidential Staffer Kale Ceazer and Deputy Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Musheibu Mohammed-Alfa.
