CPP urges members to accept choice of delegates

The National Chairman of the CPP, Prof. Edmund Delle, has asked all party members to accept the choice of the delegates and work together with the elected flagbearer to ensure victory in November.

Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, ‘Focus’, Prof. Delle described Mr. Greenstreet as Ghana's Roosevelt. 

Prof Delle also asked party members dissatisfied with any matter to use the party's internal mechanisms to seek redress. He said it is sad that some members have resorted to the media to make all kinds of allegations.

Meanwhile, a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School and political marketing strategist, Dr. Kobby Mensah says, the time has come for political parties to set out clear guidelines as to how delegates are catered for during such congresses in order to tackle the issue of vote buying.

Contributing to the programme via telephone, a senior lecturer in political science at the University of Ghana, Dr. Ransford Gyampo, said though Mr. Greenstreet is a charming and eloquent candidate, that is not enough to make him popular beyond the CPP. 

He doubts if Mr. Greenstreet has what it takes to push the November polls into a run off.

For his part, the National Youth Organiser of the CPP, Ernesto Yeboah, said although some of them have serious reservations about events during the congress, especially vote buying, they are ready to support Mr. Greenstreet to ensure victory for the Party.
