Turkey arrests hundreds of suspected Kurdish, IS militants Turkey has detained 251 people in a coordinated raid against suspected Islamic State (IS) jihadists and Kurdish militants following a series of attacks on members of the public and police. According to media sources, an operation involving some five thousand police raided 140 addresses in 26 districts of Istanbul in search of suspected members of the Islamic State Group, Turkey's outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and other militant factions. Turkish authorities earlier identified a suspect in the bombing with apparent links to the Islamic State group. The bombing prompted more violence in Kurdish dominated southeast, where many accuse the Turkish authorities of collaborating with the Islamic State group.
