Use of emoticons in communication

The use of Emoticons in non-verbal communication such as texting, is fairly popular today, especially among the youth. On the various social media platforms such as Whatsapp, Tango and Viber, there is a wide variety to choose from. Emoticons are a pictorial representation of facial gestures, used to express the mood or feelings of the sender. For many a user, these emoticons aptly convey the intended message to the receiver. We take a look at these icons which are gradually becoming a part of our non-verbal everyday communication.
